Under 11 Match report 26th June

Players, family and friends this week the match results flew away on the windy woodbridge Saturday. The game was against mt nelson and the result was as I recall mt nelson-13, woodbridge 3. The match plan and report flew away as well!

Anyway We were playing 7 aside in the first half, mt nelson booted nine goals we tried but the assault was at the best overwhelming, never the less our team really rose to the challenge Callum showing the spirit it needed to break the losing feeling. The spirit of the team is interesting because when the chips are down out it comes and today I saw a lot of brilliant character in the team players. 9 down at half time the kids listened to Kyes tactics and advice Nick bravely took the goalie shirt from an exhausted Jessie. Callum was put back into sweep from centre a big ask he managed to bring the game to an exciting level. Lauren fresh for the season amazing!

Thankyou so much to our new player Aiden Carpenter (seans brother) a natural and a much appreaiated and wanted player . Amy had a few injuries poor girl! Half way through the second half brave exhausted troops were replenished by the just victorious under 9’s George, Sean, Cadence, and Tennessee it was a sweet touch as Kin kicked the goal he had in mind as soon as the new energy filled the pitch it was a just reward for the effort he put into the whole game. We managed a few more goals thanks to the new troops.

The results for us are a few goals good ones! And team and community spirit and rising to challenges and giving strength and support and competing for the fun and love of it. Great team awesome kids! A special mention to our head coach Kye Cahill an amazing support for our team thanks everyone sincerely Jodee

Woodbridge Under 11 Wallaby V’s Mt Nelson

1 May 2010
Woodbridge 2 Mt Nelson 10.

Please don’t let the score say anything other than a lot of goals were kicked in this game. Woodbridge recovered well after each Mt Nelson goal and Cynthia and Samantha through hard work, determination and talent scored for Woodbridge, great stuff.

Amy, a natural runner and Lauren sporty spice, have the bravery award; we saw them take blows and soldier on. George and Tennessee really did well in goals, the Mt Nelson team attacked, however our goalies braved it and saved a few as well. Nick shows a lot of natural talent and ball handling skills, Kin is a great player in the middle forward and defence, he is a great tag defence player on the wing, Callum had a brilliant shot at goal maybe he is a forward? I think so. Jessie was a treat as always, so athletic great to watch. George and Tennessee both excellent on field, Ruby is an amazing player, wonderful, natural defender and a smart player!

The Under 11s are a very smart talented team I’m wondering why we haven’t won a game so far, hopefully you can think about it kids and we can work together for a good game plan to help us to a victory. Positions need to be formed ahead of games and we need to work on passing .

Thanks to Phineas Aldridge for refereeing for us this week , it was a great day and the team is a really good one. Go Woodbridge!!!

Huon Valley: 7, defeated Woodbridge: 4

Saturday 24th April 2010
A great game for the under 11’s today. The Huon Valley side was very fit and a big sized team. We started strong in the first half; Huon Valley really responded in the 2nd half, we set the pace of an excellent game. We hit four nice goals and the defending really developed, especially the girls working together on the opposing forwards.

This is our second game and next week we will begin to report individual achievements and mentions in the match reports and we can really develop as a team and understand what out true soccer positions are.

An extra big thankyou and mention to Kye Cahill for his refereeing of an excellent standard. Looking forward to Sonia and Roz helping with the match reports each week . If we can work on passing and kicking in training we will start to win some matches. Excellent achievement Woodbridge under 11’s.
